I know, I know, it’s been long overdue. I miss you all too 😉
Anyway, unto the business of the day. Here goes this super easy soup that is sure to impress friends and family. This generously serves 4-5 people; enjoy.
Ingredients:
- Tofu (about 1.5 cups, cut in desired shape)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- Black fungus (or any other type of mushroom)
- 1/2 tsp Chili pepper
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chinese five spice
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 3 tbsp corn flour (mixed in with cold water)
Directions:
- Add very hot water to black fungus and set aside (if using any other type of mushrooms, skip this step)
- Bring about 5 cups of water to a boil and add all the spices
- When water starts rolling over, add the black fungus (or mushroom) and tofu
- add soy sauce as needed
- When soup starts boiling over, pour in egg and mix as you do so to break up the egg.
- Reduce to low heat and add corn flour mix until you get the consistency that you prefer
- And you’re done 🙂
